CoreCodec has just updated one of the most famous media players for mobile phones, the “CorePlayer”. The “CorePlayer” is famous for the wide range of formats it is able to play and has become even more popular since the last update which brought YouTube support for a part of Symbian devices.
The brand new update v1.2.4 for the Symbian platform, so both UIQ and S60 devices is another nice update which improves stability and brings new features.
Apart from the normal bug fixes and improvements, there is above all the possibility to play Flash Video files (*.flv”) which are used to deliver most of Flash web content. Like this, you can play saved files from portals like YouTube on your Symbian phone.
CoreCodec has also added the YouTube browser to every Symbian version of the player. Furthermore, they put efforts in further adapting to the Symbian platform so that video playback should be faster now.
Last but not least RSS feed support has been improved by adding support for site specific funtions like “Revision3″.


FLASH SUPPORT INFO
First…. Thank you Adobe!! Your customers and our community appreciate the fact that you looked at what was best for them and Opening up the SWF and FLV specs goes a long way at spreading the Flash love even more so then ever before.
LIMITATIONS
- At this time we will only support the Flash Container (FLV)
- Don’t look for CorePlayer to play the files ‘within’ a webpage (it will however play linked FLV content and open CorePlayer). Embbedded support will come by early next year with v2.0 of CorePlayerX/CorePlayer API integration.
- We will not support ON2’s VP6 as an embedded video codec anytime soon if at all. If the demand warrants it we will look into the possibilities but till then…
SWF
This is where we are taking a stand back approach. We will likely include SWF support at some point… but are looking at the options of either using the upcoming Adobe Runtime and or…. creating our own from scratch via the newly released SWF specs.

In new BETA3 version the scrolling mechanism within timetable will be corrected. And there will be some BUG fixes! ​

As far as "Colored categories" goes, we are in doubt to add this feature to the current release. It's a lot of work to do. We'll think about adding this functionality to the next release.​

Handy Calendar has several views: Month, Week, Day, and Tasks.
Month and Week views show all your meetings and events at a glance. Event and birthday icons remind you about the upcoming events. Busy bars in Week view and dots in Month view help you to quickly estimate your day workload.​

Day view shows a detailed list of entries for the current day. The time scale at the top shows your busy hours and prevents you from overcommitting your schedule.​

Task view shows all your tasks. You can sort them by due date, subject or priority. You can filter your tasks using predefined filters: all, active, overdue, today, next 7 days, undated and complete.
You can open and preview any meeting or task from Day and Tasks views. Preview shows all the details of the current entry. Contact names, phone numbers, e-mails and URLs are recognized and highlighted. They can be used directly from Handy Calendar (e.g. you can call to meeting attendees).​

With Handy Calendar you can edit and create entries of the following types: anniversaries, all day events, tasks, appointments and reminders. Tabbed interface allows you to easily edit any entry detail from alarm settings up to comprehensive repeating rules. ​

Sunclock is a J2ME Midlet that displays a map of the Earth and indicates the illuminated portion of the globe by drawing sunlit areas dark on light, night areas as light on dark. In addition to providing local time for the default timezone, it also displays up to four additional cities on the map with the local times also. The map updated every minute to follow the movement of the earth.

Using the Setup menu you can choose the cities according to your interest. You can give the DST rules for the chosen city. If you have internet access on your handset you should search the city using the "Search" menu and the remote service will find the proper DST rule settings for you. Otherwise you should use the provided online DST rule search service on the top right corner of this page. You have to specify the correct timezone values relative from GMT (for example +5.5hours will appear as 530) and the integer WGS-84 coordinates multiplied by ten (N14.7432 will be lat: 147) of the cities to display them on the map. Thus most of the current phones do not supports the timezone settings, the localtime will be calculated based on the Main City setup and the internal phone clock will be interpreted as a timezone corrected local time value according to the Main City timezone selectio.
