bExplore is a mobile file explore that lets a mobile user to browse files on a local device and remote devices and exchange files between a local device and a remote device over Bluetooth. It is written in J2ME and tested with Nokia S60 devices.

Y-Tasks v0.51:

Y-Tasks is a suite of utilities and diagnostic tools that are sure to please even the most advanced S60 user. There are many plugins out of which I have chosen only 5 best.

The Y-Tasks home screen shown above gives you access to each of the components within the app and each component performs entirely unique functions.


Plugins

Filetypes:

The Filetypes component allows you to view all recorded filetypes on our device and change file associations. How is that useful? Well just one example is MP3s. By default MP3 files will open in the integrated music player but now you can easily change the mapping so that they will open in a third-party player like LCG JukeBox instead.

Apps & Tasks:

This is the actual task manager component in the app. Apps & Tasks will allow to to view installed apps and running tasks and display info about each item. Beyond that you can also easily bring running tasks to the forefront and even close or kill them as you wish.

Processes:

The Processes component allows you to browse through all of the processes and threads running on your device. You can view detailed info on each list item including IDs and capabilities, and you can also kill items from the main Options menu.

Memory status:

Memory status gives you a real-time view of the memory state of each drive on your device, as well as RAM. There is also a unique option to “Reserve memory”. This will reserve a block of RAM (any size you wish) and prevent it from being occupied by any app.

The Memory (RAM) Recovery Trick:

Usually when you keep using your device from 2 or 3 days, the amount of free RAM keeps getting lower and lower. You will start getting "Not enough memory, close some applications and try again" message. Only way to reclaim the RAM WAS to restart the device.

Now with YTasks you can recover a lot of RAM!!!
I have tested this on my Nokia N95 v21.0.0.16. I don't know how it works on other's mobiles. Please do test and post the results! I do hope it works on other mobiles too!


> Close all running apps and open YTasks (make sure you have memory plugin). And select the memory monitor plugin from the YTasks screen.



> Now you can see how much RAM is free and how much is used. Select Options > Reserve Memory. Give a large amount and press the OK button. Now YTasks will give you the max possible memory that you can reserve. Reduce about 300 or 500 kb from that and then press OK.



> Now you see only 0% of RAM is free. Now goto Options > Compress RAM. Once you do that, a lot of free RAM will be released!

> Now goto Options > Free Reservations. Once you do that, you will have much more free RAM, nearly the amount when the device has been restarted.


You should not use this instead of restarting you mobile! It is always good to restart you mobile once in 2 or 3 days

FileExplorer (Java) 3.0 alpha



FileExplorer is a program for managing files on the phone and memory card.

Current features include hiding/unhiding of folders and files, password protected access to the program and copying and moving files.

It also features a slideshow viewer and image viewer. Will NOT open other files except jpg and png. This is NOT the final version. Its a pre-release build.

IMPORTANT Settings before running FileExplorer:

After FileExplorer has been installed you'll need to configure the Access Permissions to allow FileExplorer to access the phone local file system and the internet. How this is done depends on your phone. Please read the below section for instructions for your phone type.

Configuring Access Permissions for FileExplorer

Sony Ericsson phones:

Go to either Applications or Games (depending on where you installed FileExplorer). Highlight FileExplorer, but instead of opening it, press More->Permissions.

Select Read User Data and set the access permissions to "Ask once" or "Ask Always". Select Write User Data and set the access permissions to "Ask once" or "Ask Always".

Nokia Series 60 phones:

Go to Tools > Manager > FileExplorer > Options > Suite settings

Select Read User Data and set the access permissions to "Session" or "Ask Always".
Select Write User Data and set the access permissions to "Session" or "Ask Always".

Nokia Series 40 phones:

Go to FileExplorer->Options->Application access->Phone access

Select Read User Data and set the access permissions to "Session" or "Ask Always".
Select Write User Data and set the access permissions to "Session" or "Ask Always".

Torch Keys:

Left Softkey(Nokia): Change color
Right Softkey(Nokia): Go back
UP/DOWN arrow: Increase/decrease brightness
LEFT/RIGHT arrow: Cycle through preset colours
8 key: Toggle Circle light or Full screen light
0 key: Reset all settings

What's new in this release:

· Shows hidden files and folders with separate icons than the normal ones.
· Improved the support for Sony Ericsson phones. Should work but haven't tested though. Do send feedback
· Added support for zip files and nokia themes but it's under work and will not work.
· Changed the UI a bit adding a shortcut to jump directly to a path
· Added a torch with different colors. The flashlight doesn't work yet.
· Added Nokia Theme creator UI. Still under development.
· Support for zipping files and upzipping them. Working on them. To get torch which remains ON permanently press the UP arrow which changes the brightness level.

Fonts Preview v1.0 ​

Font Preview is an application which allows you to preview the current fonts being used on your phone. It is a very simple application which displays alphanumeric characters.

This is great to preview fonts for people to download.

Don't expect too much from this application. Its really simple in what it does.

Note: This program does not allow you to preview other fonts stored on your phone; just the one which is the active font. And also the themes used in the screen shots in case you are curious are Abstraction and Summertime both by PiZero. The fonts used are Enigmatic and Handel Gothic.
