The mobile phone is a perfect platform for action RPGs. Nintendo should just port over any Zelda game, and I’m sure it’ll sell like hotcakes. In the mean time, Elkware Studios has decided to unleash their own take on the popular genre.

Forsaken Fortress has you in control of a hero wannabe. You’ll be romping around mostly in dungeons, killing anything that moves. You can “upgrade” your hero thru the various items you’ll be picking up in the course of your journey. You’ll unearth magic books, artifacts and weapons - all designed to make your character stronger and more powerful. There’ll also be several NPCs for you to interact with who will help advance the storyline.

The game’s artwork is very pretty, and the levels are both well drawn and well designed. If you’re up against a spider, the graphics are detailed enough for you to figure out that you are fighting an arachnid.

The music is superb and the story and the graphics might be enough to keep you happy.
