Python : HastroFunc v1.0 Beta

This is a scientific python application which calculates the position of celestial bodies like the Sun , Moon , planets and stars with respect to a specific geo-graphical location on the earth. It uses the newest standards for celestial mechanics as published by IAU (precession, nutation and frame ) . For moon position , it uses the ELP/mpp02 solution and for the Sun and planets , it uses the JPL Keplerian elements solution.

The geo-graphical locations on the earth include Veldhoven, Sipke, Wirfttal, Nizas, Paris, Berlin, Warszawa, Kaapstad, New Delhi, Beijing, Buenos Aires and New York.

The application has three main screens :



1. The geo-graphical location entry screen where you need to choose your location.



2. Celestial body and time entry screen where you need to choose the celestial body and time.



3. Results screen where numerical properties of the chosen celestial body are displayed in the form of geocentric and topocentric positions.

pyS60 Resource Cleanup (python script) ​

• Description:

S60ResourceCleanup is a Python script to clean-up drives from unneeded application resource and help files on Series 60 platform. It is developed/tested on my Nokia N95-1 (S60 3rdEd FP1) but should work on most S60 3rd devices.
Several Symbian applications (especially Nokia's) install resource and help files for quite many languages even though you never going to use them. This script lets you select the languages that you want to keep and deletes the resource and help files of all the other languages (from C:\Resource and/or E:\Resource and their sub-directories). As a result a lot of free space (several MB depending on your apps) can be freed from the disk drives. The script can take a backup of the removed files, on memory card (E:\ResourceBackup). You can also restore the files from the backup. Or you can transfer them in your pc and free space from the memory card.
Use it wisely, backup is recommended at least the first time. Note that several applications use only English (UK) (code 01) resources, so it is strongly recommended to keep that language.

• Requirements:

- An S60 phone with patches to disable capabilities.
- Python for S60 installed on the phone.
- Python script shell installed on the phone

• Usage:

- Download rescleanup.py and copy it to c:\python (or e:\python).
- Disable capabilities on the phone.
- Open Python shell and from menu select "Run script" and select the script.
- Follow the menu to perform cleanup/restore.
- You can navigate with all the arrows.
- It takes time to run, so have patience.
- You can cancel the active job by selecting "exit" or with the left arrow.
- Remember that no file will be lost if you have enabled backup.
- The language refers only to the user interface language, not the writing language.
- The backup location is fixed to E:\ResourceBackup,
so in order to keep backup you need a writeable E: drive (memory card)

This program is for the person who likes to listen to music while getting sleep, and not have to worry about the music player running all night, if he or she falls asleep. Simply open the program, enter the amount of hours you wish the program to wait until turning off, Music Player and Radio will close at the time we set .​

The library consists of a single Symbian OS native dynamic link library that has a Python interface. It should work on all S60 v2 and v3 phones, but will not work on v1 phones, for which the used alarm server client API is not available.​

TagMe is a program to display a picture steady on your phone's display, even in menus or programs. There are serveal possible actions why you could do it. Got a small picture that you really like and want it more than to be a simple background? Use TagMe and never loose the view of this picture.

How is it to be used?
It's really simple! After installing, copy the picture you want to use to "C:\TagMe\". (Attention! Who does not find this folder, should use X-Plore or a similiar Explorer). The just start TagMe, press Options -> Settings -> Set Tag Picture. Choose your Pic. Then again press Options -> Set Tag Position. There are alot of predefined Positions, like "Center", "Bottom Center", etc. But you can also manually define the Position by yourself. Then press Options -> Tagme! and put it to background. To remove this Tag, simply reopen the prog and exit it.
