PhoneTorch v1.02 SymbianOS 9.4 [Update 2009.03.09.]

PhoneTorch is a tool for SymbianOS 9.4 5th Edition (e.g. Nokia 5800XM) phones which allows to use the phone's build in flash as a torch.

PhoneTorch is still under development and usage is at your own risk. Intensive use of the camera flashlight might lead to device damage.

Installation Instructions for unsigned SIS

SymbianOS requires programs to be certificated. The certification process is depicted below:

Download PhoneTorch unsigned

Goto SymbianSigned.com website
Enter your phone's IMEI (you get it by typing "*#06#" into your phone), your email address and then select the downloaded PhoneTorch file
PhoneTorch requires only "UserEnvironment" capabilities but selecting all capabilities works too.
You will receive an email with an activation link. Click on this link. After some minutes you should receive another email containing the download link to the signed PhoneTorch installation file.

Info for all N95, N95-8GB and N96 users: I got some requests to support these phones. The N95(-8GB) will never be supported because it lacks the required functions. The N96 has a different API than the Nokia 5800XM but theoretically (with modifications) PhoneTorch should work there. When I get a N96 into hands for some days, I will try to adapt PhoneTorch for this phone. So if you have a N96 which you (temporary) do not need...

FreeUnRAR is a freeware RAR decompressing tool on S60 3rd and 5th edition devices. It does not provide many advanced functions available in the desktop RAR application and the feature I miss the most is ability to compress file(s) into rar archive but after all it is not main purpose of this freeware application.​

FreeUnRAR is designed to help your work with RAR archives on your provide an easy to use tool capable to decompress RAR files downloaded from Internet or received as attachments in e-mail messages and helps you to keep your business with you when you are on the go and have no access to desktop computer.​

Furthermore it supports decompressing multi-volume RAR file as well as password-protected files.​

What’s new in v1.01:​

1, support RAR files which packed files’ name is encrypted.
2, support file association for RAR files (required restarting after installation)
