mIRGGI v0.4.10 (Update)

Description
mIRGGI is the first S60 3rd edition IRC client. It's free for all uses but it's not open source.

Version 0.4.10 is out. Fixes the problem where mIRGGI won't start when installed on a memory card.

Tektronic Lights On v1.03 S60v3

Lights On is a software service which is able to automatically turn on and keep activated the screen light of the phone as long as the charger is plugged in or based on a timeout period. The screenlight will never turn off until either the charger is plugged out or the timeout expires. It will also try to keep the keypad unlocked if you set this. You can also manually turn the light on/off using the applications settings.

-Lights On is mainly useful while you are driving your car but you can easily use it for any other reason which requires keeping the screen light always turned on without your intervention.

When you plug the phone in the compatible car charger, after the inactivity time, many phones will turn the light off, showing the idle screen. This is very inconvenient because you can not easily see what the phone displays while you have to keep driving. Lights On reacts at the charger plug in events and will automatically keep the screen light activated/on allowing you to see and use the phone more easily. When you plug out the phone from the compatible car charger the screen light is turned back to the normal state (off); it will behave depending by the phone’s light settings.

The application could also be used when you are in a darkness area and you need the screen light to be always turned on/active without to touch your phone periodically.

*Note for use in car: Most of the car chargers (along with the phone holder/support if available) do not offer the automatic activation of the screen light and the Lights On application can help in this situation. If you use a car kit instead (not only a car charger) please check if it already has the built-in feature for keeping the light automatically turned on while the phone is plugged in

TextQuick

TextQuick is a small application for your S60 mobile phone. TextQuick provides a quick way for you to text your best friends and family. It ranks everyone in your phone book by how popular they are. This means it's always easy to find the people you text the most. My aim in creating TextQuick is to make using the phone more pleasurable.

The beta period for TextQuick has now concluded. I would like to thank all those who downloaded the beta releases and provided me with great feedback. TextQuick is now available to purchase from the handango web site.

Scratching my own itch

I text my family the most, unfortunately my surname is Woods. This means that my family are always at the bottom of the list of contacts on my phone. I have to click new message, then click to add a name to the message, search for the person I want, and then click again to select them before finally actually writing the message I wanted to in the first place. - Not the most useful scenario when your rushing out the door trying to text people to say your running late. TextQuick's development really stemmed from me trying to scratch that itch.

Installation help

TextQuick is a self signed application. This means that when you install the application your phone will ask you if you really want it. Some phones have the option to install applications already turned off. If when you install TextQuick you see a message like “Certificate Error. Please contact the supplier.” then you need to turn this option on. It's really easy to do and takes no more than 20 seconds. I've provided a set by step guide here.

Running TextQuick

When TextQuick starts for the first time it works out who you text the most, by scanning through all your text messages, both those you've sent and those messages you've received. Depending on how many messages you have in your inbox this could take a minute or so. But don't worry it saves all this information so that next time you start TextQuick it will be up and running in about two seconds. TextQuick updates it's list of who it thinks are your most popular text friends every time you start it. If you've not used TextQuick in a while it might take it a second or two to check it's list.

GT is a program for Series 60 mobile phones. It uses a Bluetooth GPS receiver to measure your car's top speed and acceleration (0-100 km/h and 0-400 m, or 0-60 mph and quarter mile). GT is also useful for navigation, giving direction and distance to any set destination.

NStarter 1.05 S60v3 - (Run apps, switch bt, profiles and languages)

NStarter is a tool for starting any application, changing writing language, switching bluetooth on/off or changing active profiles by pressing a hot key (Pen+*,# or numbers). Also it can reboot the phone without asking protect key and to start automatically after reboot. It starts any of exe files from your phone (and Java), so be careful when starting some system applications (phone may hang).
NStarter doesn't display itself in task list, so to bring it foreground press Pen+C.

Papyrus can be synchronized with your desktop Outlook using the Nokia PC suite, including an item's note/description fields (For Symbian 7 or higher) that are missing when using the default calendar application.
