Scenetone is a "demoscene" player that can play various module formats such as soundtracker, protracker, xm, s3m, etc. and also SID tunes. It is licensed under GPL.

Release notes for v0.9:

This release fixes some memory leaks from SID playing (now you can actually play 100 sid files by skipping from SID to another) and one quickpatch fix for a crash that occurs after WAV file has been generated (real fix needs more investigating). This release also uses updated signing certificate (which should not expire in long time)

Note: uninstall old version before installing this one.

* fixed truncating of messages (to 64 chars) on some phones/firmwares,
* fixed problems with T9 (the word being composed was canceled),
* application chooses the default SMS number automatically (in contacts), if present,
* added font size setting,
* it is possible to set default keyboard mode on address bar,
* application shows some additional info in contacts, when no name is provided for the contact
* added pop-up dialog with phone numbers of messages recently sent or received
(to activate the pop-up window, press arrow up when the address bar is focused),

OlaMelen : The SMS Diary 1.4 MultiLang S60 9.1 3rd



The SMS diary application reads all your SMS messages in your phone (but do not delete them, of course) and creates a diary out of them. The diary that will be created consists of two web pages; one page with a table of contents and statistics (statistics on how many messages you have sent etc) and the other page contains all your messages, formatted in a nice way. The web pages are saved on the internal memory of your phone. After the diary has been created you can transfer the web-pages to your pc and store them for future use.

Mobispine is an IP-based technology called Mobile Instant Messaging. This means that information, in the form of text, pictures, or sound, can be sent between mobile phones using the Internet rather than SMS. Unlike SMS, you no longer have a limit of just 160 characters, and you can see your conversation history. Since Mobispine works using the Internet, you can always see who is online at any time. Mobispine is also spyware free, and virus safe.

This sounds great! What does it cost?
While Mobispine's service is free, your mobile operator may charge you for the data sent and received. However, the amount of data in just one message is so small that you could send the equivalent of about 500 SMS, and still not expect to pay more than about €1.

To explain, if you have Mobispine running all the time for an entire month, and send/receive 1000 messages you probably consume about 0,5MB of data. Your operator will charge you for this data transfer. For instance, if your operator charges you €2/MB you will end up paying €1 for all these messages. If you used SMS to send 500 messages, at a price of €0.20/SMS, it would cost you €100!

Compared to other mobile IM services that charge you to use IM, the Mobispine service uses only a fraction of GPRS traffic thanks to the usage of optimized sockets rather than HTTP. This means that the information is compressed, and allows Mobispine to use less than 1/5th of the GPRS traffic compared to most other IM services. Since you never need to make any payments to Mobispine, you will never have to to enter credit card details.
